Partisan Records
Partisan Records is an American independent record label co-founded in 2007 by Tim Putnam and Ian Wheeler in Brooklyn, New York. From its beginnings in Brooklyn, the company has grown into a multi-office operation, with a presence in New York, London, Berlin, and Los Angeles.
The label’s roster reflects a broad contemporary focus, spanning guitar-driven rock and post-punk alongside newer strands of alternative pop and experimental music. Partisan has been associated with artists such as IDLES, whose work aligns with the label’s reputation for releasing assertive, modern rock, and Ezra Collective, pointing to an openness to genre-crossing projects beyond a single scene or sound. More recent and emerging acts connected to the label include Blondshell, HONESTY, TTSSFU, Lip Critic, Léa Sen, and Caught Stealing Movie, illustrating a catalogue that mixes established names with developing artists.
Partisan Records operates internationally, maintaining offices across major music hubs in the United States and Europe. Tim Putnam is identified as the label’s president and co-founder.
