Optimo Music

Optimo Music is the record label associated with Optimo, the Glasgow collective best known for Optimo Espacio, a weekly Sunday-night club at the Sub Club on Jamaica Street. Optimo Espacio ran every week from its founding in 1997 until its final night on 25 April 2010, after an announcement made on 11 March 2010. The club’s resident DJ duo, JD Twitch and JG Wilkes, used “Optimo” both as a collective name and as a platform for related activity beyond the weekly event.

According to Discogs, Optimo Music is based in Glasgow, United Kingdom, and was founded in 2009 by Keith McIvor, better known as JD Twitch. The label sits within the wider Optimo orbit that grew out of the Sub Club residency. After the end of the weekly Optimo Espacio nights in 2010, JD Twitch and JG Wilkes continued to tour, promote, and release music under the Optimo name, with the label forming part of that ongoing work.
