Nettwerk Music Group
Nettwerk Music Group began in Vancouver in 1984, founded by Terry McBride and Mark Jowett. Its early releases centred on electronic music, particularly alternative dance and industrial, before the company broadened into pop, rock and singer-songwriter work. The label's history includes key associations with Skinny Puppy, Sarah McLachlan, Barenaked Ladies and Coldplay, artists whose careers reflect the range Nettwerk developed beyond its electronic roots.
Operating independently, Nettwerk grew from a Canadian label into an international music company with offices in Los Angeles, New York City, Boston, London and Hamburg. Its wider organisation includes Nettwerk Records, Nettwerk Management, Nettwerk Producer Management and Nettwerk One Publishing. The company was named to Billboard's “Indie Power Players” list in 2024 and 2025.
