Mexican Summer
Mexican Summer is an independent record label named after the Marissa Nadler song “Mexican Summer.” Founded in 2009 by Keith Abrahamsson and Andres Santo Domingo, it operates from Brooklyn, New York, and is known for releasing music that moves freely across stylistic boundaries.
Since its founding, Mexican Summer has issued recordings from a wide range of artists associated with contemporary indie and experimental music. Its catalog includes releases by Best Coast, Kurt Vile, Ariel Pink, Allah-Las, Weyes Blood, Connan Mockasin, Jessica Pratt, and Cate Le Bon, reflecting a roster that spans guitar-driven pop and rock, singer-songwriter work, and more exploratory forms. The label has also released music by artists such as Devendra Banhart, as well as newer and genre-adjacent figures including L’Rain, Photay, Sessa, Mega Bog, and Hayden Pedigo.
Mexican Summer operates in tandem with Anthology, a book publisher and archival record label. Anthology is described as focusing on responsibly licensed material, compelling design, and definitive presentation, positioning it as a complementary outlet alongside Mexican Summer’s contemporary releases.
