Metalheadz

Metalheadz is a major drum and bass record label in the United Kingdom, closely associated with the genre’s development and with the work of its co-founder Goldie. Established in 1994, the label has been identified with a strain of drum and bass that foregrounds darker, more experimental and artist-led approaches, reflecting the tastes and profiles of the people who founded it.

The label was founded in 1994 by Kemistry & Storm and Goldie. From the outset, Metalheadz’ identity has been tied to the founders’ standing as DJs and producers within British electronic music, and to their role in shaping the sound and culture around drum and bass. Goldie later stepped down as a director in November 2019.

Across its output, Metalheadz has served as a platform for producers working within drum and bass and its related styles. Artists associated with the label include Goldie himself, alongside figures such as Alex Reece, A Sides, Phase, Jesta, Gremlinz, SB81, and Hell Vendetta.
