Mannequin

Mannequin Records has been spreading cold waves since its 2008 founding in Rome, where Italian DJ and producer Alessandro Adriani started the independent label. Now based in Berlin, Mannequin works across the meeting points of post-punk, cold wave, industrial music and contemporary electronic experimentation.

Its catalogue gives renewed circulation to obscure recordings from the late 1970s and 1980s, particularly music rooted in the colder, more mechanical strains of post-punk and industrial culture. Alongside those reissues, the label releases new work that carries those reference points into the present. Artists including L.F.T., Hominid, Machino, The Hacker, Andi, Chromium and Leroy Se Meurt reflect Mannequin's interest in electronic music with a stark, experimental edge.

Alessandro Adriani remains closely identified with the label's direction, connecting its archival focus with contemporary releases. From Berlin, Mannequin Records operates as a home for music that treats the underground histories of cold wave, industrial and post-punk as living material rather than a closed chapter.
