Founded by Darius Van Arman in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1996, Jagjaguwar relocated to Bloomington, Indiana in 1999 at the invitation of Secretly Canadian’s Chris Swanson. The independent label has since worked with artists including Bon Iver, Dinosaur Jr., Sharon Van Etten, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Gia Margaret, Cut Worms, Chanel Beads and Folk Bitch Trio.
