Hessle Audio
Hessle Audio is a London-based electronic music record label founded by the DJs and producers Ben UFO, Pangaea, and Pearson Sound. Closely associated with its founders’ work as DJs and producers, the label has been identified with a broad but club-focused approach to electronic music, releasing records that move between house, techno, UK garage, dubstep, and electronica.
The label’s catalogue reflects that range through both in-house projects and a wider circle of artists. Releases have included music by Pearson Sound alongside contributions from producers such as Objekt, James Blake, Blawan, Martyn, Peverelist, and Olof Dreijer of The Knife. This mix of artists has positioned Hessle Audio as a platform where different strands of UK and international electronic music meet, with an emphasis on dancefloor-oriented production as well as more exploratory electronic forms.
Hessle Audio is run by David Kennedy (Pearson Sound), Ben Thomson (Ben UFO), and Kevin McAuley (Pangaea). Its identity is tied to the founders’ shared curatorial perspective, with the label’s output spanning multiple styles rather than aligning with a single genre. The official website is hessleaudio.com.
