Fool's Gold Records
Fool’s Gold Records grew from the shared musical ideas of DJs Alain Macklovitch, better known as A-Trak, and Nick Barat. Based in Brooklyn, the independent label was conceived as a home for the North American DJ culture A-Trak felt was underrepresented by existing imprints, with club music at its centre.
The roster has linked established dance-floor figures such as A-Trak, Danny Daze and Lee Foss with artists including The Cool Kids, Chuck Inglish and MJ Nebreda. Visual artist Dust La Rock helped define Fool’s Gold’s identity through original logo and sleeve artwork. Beyond its releases, the label is also known for its annual Day Off concert series in the US and Canada.
