Bedrock Records

Bedrock Records takes its name from Bedrock, a long-running club night held in Hastings and at Heaven nightclub in London. The label is closely associated with DJ and producer John Digweed, who started Bedrock Records as an outlet for trance, progressive house, and techno, drawing a direct line between the sound of the parties and its recorded output.

Bedrock’s identity is anchored in Digweed’s curatorial approach to progressive electronic music, spanning club-focused trance and progressive house through to techno. The imprint has been a platform for a wide range of producers working across these styles, issuing singles by acts including Astro & Glyde, Brancaccio & Aisher, Steve Lawler, Shmuel Flash, Steve Porter, Sahar Z, Guy J, Henry Saiz, Stelios Vassiloudis, Electric Rescue, The Japanese Popstars, and Jerry Bonham. The breadth of that roster reflects a label built around DJ culture and the needs of the dancefloor, rather than a narrow genre definition.

The Bedrock name also functions as a production identity. Digweed and Nick Muir use Bedrock as their shared moniker, linking the label to their own studio work as well as to the wider circle of artists they release. Alongside Digweed and Muir, the label’s more recent profile includes artists such as Spencer Brown, Rodriguez Jr., and Jamie Stevens, reinforcing its emphasis on progressive, club-oriented electronic music rooted in the UK scene while remaining internationally connected.
