Antinote
Antinote is a Paris electronic music label founded in 2012 by Quentin Vandewalle and Gwen Jamois, also known as Zaltan and Iueke. Its catalogue has followed an eclectic editorial line, rooted mainly in electronic music while leaving room for artists whose work doesn't fit neatly into a single style.
Run with an ear for unfamiliar approaches, Antinote has released music by artists including Domenique Dumont, Nico Motte, D.K. and Syracuse. Its wider roster also includes Alek Lee, Bruce Falkian, After Bobby Williams, KARMA SHE, Klein Volk and Lily Haz. The label's releases are conceived as visual as well as musical objects, with graphic design by Nicolas Motte of the Check Morris studio playing a part in that identity.
In 2017, Antinote marked its fifth year with 5 years of loving notes, a compilation bringing together tracks by artists from the label's catalogue. The release reflected the label's focus on giving French and international artists space to develop individual sounds rather than imposing a fixed house style.
