Westend

A pop group formed in 1983 for the Eurovision Song Contest had their first and last collaboration with the Austrian entry "Hurricane." This catchy synth-pop song with a hint of schlager is considered by many to be the initial appearance of a boy band at the Grand Prix TV show. However, that's not entirely accurate, as the vocals were performed only by the male members of Westend, but on stage, they were accompanied by a female group member - dancer Patricia Tandien.
