Westend

Westend was the act that performed Austria’s entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1983. The group appeared with the song “Hurricane,” which represented Austria in that year’s competition.

“Hurricane” was composed by Peter Vieweger, with lyrics credited to Heli Deinboek and Heinz Nessizius. Westend’s Eurovision lineup included Gary Lux, Peter Vieweger, René Wulff, and Bernhard Rabitsch. Austria’s participating broadcaster, Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF), selected the country’s entry through a national final, which resulted in “Hurricane” being chosen for the contest.
