Vintage Culture
Vintage Culture built his profile through dancefloor-ready reinterpretations of familiar songs, including remixes of New Order’s “Blue Monday” and Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall.” He has also reworked Brazilian material, with versions of Cazuza’s “Bete Balanço” and Fernanda Abreu’s “Bidolibido.”
Born Lukas Rafael Ruiz Hespanhol on 7 July 1993 in Mundo Novo, Brazil, he is a Brazilian DJ and record producer who performs as Vintage Culture. His music moves through house, deep house, electronic music, techno and Brazilian bass, with retro synth-pop and nu-disco influences present in his approach to modern club music.
Alongside his work as a producer and DJ, Hespanhol is a record-company manager at Só Track Boa. He has released music through outlets including Affairs Records, Knee Deep In Sound and Mine Recordings, while also working under the Vintage Culture name.
