At nine years old in Sao Paulo, Victor Ruiz received a bass guitar from his parents. He taught himself to play, then picked up drums and piano, cycling through rock, punk, and metal bands before psytrance pulled him sideways in high school. That detour led to a degree in electronic music production from Anhembi Morumbi University, which he completed in 2008 at age nineteen. A friend who produced techno pointed him toward the genre, and Ruiz spent the next two years locked to his computer for thirteen to sixteen hours a day, grinding through what he openly admits was a stretch of terrible output before anything clicked.

By 2009 he was DJing and releasing his first tracks on independent labels, including Take A Nap (Part One) on High Definition Records and the Schizophrenic EP on Flow Mexico Records. Bookings across Brazil's festival circuit followed, with sets at Lollapalooza Brazil among them. The real pivot came in 2013 when European promoters began calling. Exposure to the continent's club infrastructure sharpened his production and performance, and in 2018 he relocated to Berlin. He later moved to Amsterdam in 2019, returned to Berlin in 2020, and settled in Lisbon in 2022.

Ruiz's output spans labels that rarely share roster space. He has released on Adam Beyer's Drumcode (the Nimbus EP in 2019, followed by the Freedom EP), Filth On Acid, Senso Sounds, Factory93, and deadmau5's mau5trap, where he contributed a remix of "Strobe" in 2024. His bootleg of The Prodigy's "Breathe" and a collaborative remix of Depeche Mode's "Everything Counts" with Thomas Schumacher became widely played fixtures in DJ sets. The Playground once profiled him as Beatport's highest-selling techno artist, and he has consistently ranked among the platform's top sellers in the peak time and driving techno category.

In October 2022, Ruiz launched Volta Records, a label built on three stated pillars: music, charity, and community. The imprint donates ten percent of its profits to causes chosen by its releasing artists. The idea grew out of a masterclass series Ruiz started during the 2020 pandemic, which connected him with emerging producers who struggled to find homes for their tracks. Volta's early catalogue proved commercially viable fast: Andata's "Play Hard" and Ruiz's own "Touch The Darkness" both reached Beatport's top ten.

His festival history reads like a circuit map of global electronic music: EDC Las Vegas, Tomorrowland (where he played the Atmosphere Stage in 2023), Awakenings, Time Warp, Boom, and Fusion.
