The Smashing Pumpkins

One of the greatest American rock bands were initially viewed by many as the pop fad side of grunge, but actually produced numerous records (e.g. Siamese Dream, Adore, the expansive Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness) that are among the most enduring and influential of the grunge era. Defined by the guitar virtuosity of Billy Corgan and lyrics that alternate between snarling rebellious diatribes and tender introspection, Smashing Pumpkins were a formidable four-piece.

While featuring various members over a thirty-year span, the original lineup included drummer Jimmy Chamberlin, guitarist James Iha, and bassist D'arcy Wretzky.
