Phenomenal Handclap Band is a New York–based group formed in the East Village by producer Daniel Collás. Working as a band project with a rotating cast of musicians and collaborators, the group has been associated with nu-disco and related dancefloor-oriented styles.

Their first full-length record, Phenomenal Handclap Band, introduced the project’s collaborative approach, featuring guests from different corners of New York music. The album included contributions from Aurelio Valle, Carol C, Jaleel Bunton, Jon Spencer, and Lady Tigra, among others. Collás has remained the central organizing figure, with the band’s lineup encompassing members such as Nick Movshon, Luke O’Malley, Kenan Gündüz, Juliet Swango, Quinn Luke, Michael Rafalowich, Sean Marquand, Warren Stubbs, Patrick Wood (2), Joan Tick, Laura Marin, Pier Pappalardo, Emily Panic, and Monika Heidemann.

In 2011, Phenomenal Handclap Band toured the United States and the United Kingdom with Bryan Ferry. The following year they released their second full-length album, Form and Control, issued on February 13, 2012.
