The Avalanches
The Avalanches are an Australian electronic music group formed in Melbourne in 1997. Best known for studio albums built around dense, collage-like production, the group has also performed live and recorded DJ sets.
Their debut studio album, Since I Left You, was released in 2000 and became a defining early statement of the band’s approach. After a long gap between albums, The Avalanches returned with Wildflower in 2016. They followed with a third studio album, We Will Always Love You, released in 2020.
Over time, the group’s lineup has changed. The Avalanches currently consist of Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi. Members associated with the project include Darren Seltmann, Gordon McQuilten, Dexter Fabay, and James De La Cruz, among others.
