SVDDEN DEATH
SVDDEN DEATH is the stage name of Daniel James “Danny” Howland, a DJ and producer from San Jose, California, who works from Los Angeles. His music centers on high-energy dubstep and riddim, with a heavier strain of bass music that has also been associated with deathstep and brostep.
Howland became widely known through “Sell Out,” his collaboration with American multi-platinum artist Marshmello. The track reached No. 36 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart in early 2019. Alongside releases under the SVDDEN DEATH name, he has used the VOYD alias and developed VOYD Music as part of his output.
His releases have included work with Never Say Die Records, Port Zero and Monstercat, while his own SVDDEN DEATH and VOYD platforms have provided further outlets for his productions. Across those records, Howland has built a catalog rooted in the aggressive, high-impact side of modern dubstep and riddim.
