Shinichi Atobe
Shinichi Atobe emerged with the 2001 release Ship-Scope, a record that later returned to print in remastered form in 2015. Based in Saitama, Japan, Atobe spent 13 years away from public release before Miles Whittaker and Sean Canty contacted him in Japan and learned he had further unreleased material.
That contact led to Butterfly Effect on DDS in 2014, followed by World in 2016. The same year, after Daniel Jacques approached him about a remix, Atobe instead supplied the EP Rebuild Mix 1.2.3., which Jadac Recordings released. His work moves through techno, dub techno, ambient and house forms, often with a stripped-back, lo-fi touch.
