Shenseea
Shenseea gained a wider international audience through her appearance with Roddy Ricch on Kanye West’s 2021 song “Pure Souls,” a track from West’s album Donda that entered the Billboard Hot 100. Her contribution to Donda brought her a nomination as a featured artist for Album of the Year at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.
Born Chinsea Linda Lee on 1 October 1996, Shenseea is a Jamaican singer from Kingston. She emerged through dancehall and has been credited with widening the audience for the scene, while her work also moves through reggae, afrobeats, soca, R&B and trap-influenced sounds.
Signed to Interscope Records for her debut studio album, Shenseea released Alpha in 2022. The album reached number two on the Top Reggae Albums chart. Her follow-up, Never Gets Late Here, arrived in 2024 and received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Reggae Album. Alongside her Grammy recognition, she has received two MOBO Awards.
