SAULT

SAULT are a British collective built around producer Inflo and lead vocalist and songwriter Cleo Sol, operating with an unusual degree of anonymity even as their music has moved quickly across R&B, contemporary gospel, house and disco. The group’s collaborators have often remained undisclosed, although Kid Sister, Chronixx, Jack Peñate, Little Simz and Michael Kiwanuka are among the musicians known to have worked with the project. Black-centred issues frequently sit in the foreground of SAULT’s work.

The collective released five studio albums in its first three years: 5 and 7 in 2019, followed by Untitled (Black Is) and Untitled (Rise) in 2020, then Nine in 2021. In 2022, SAULT issued the orchestral instrumental album Air, then surprise-released five further studio albums simultaneously. The group has released thirteen studio albums, with Chapter 1 arriving on 9 January 2026.

SAULT’s live appearances have been rare. Its debut concert took place at London’s Drumsheds in December 2023 and received widespread critical acclaim. The group returned to the stage in 2025 for a five-hour headline set at All Points East festival, a performance that drew mixed reviews.
