Panda Bear

Panda Bear is the solo moniker of Noah Benjamin Lennox, the American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and co-founding member of Animal Collective. Born in 1978 in Charlottesville, he began collaborating with the group in the late 1990s while developing a parallel body of work under the Panda Bear name.

Lennox released his first self-titled Panda Bear album in 1999 and has issued six solo LPs. His 2007 album Person Pitch brought particular acclaim to the project, followed by Tomboy in 2011 and Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper in 2015. The latter two albums reached the Billboard 200. Across his work, Panda Bear has moved between electronic production, experimental pop, folk-derived songwriting and psychedelic sound.

Beyond Animal Collective and his own records, Lennox has worked with several artists in different settings. He appeared on Daft Punk's 2013 single “Doin' It Right,” collaborated with Dean Blunt on “9,” and joined Braxe + Falcon for the 2020 single “Step by Step.” His work with Sonic Boom has included the albums Reset and A? of When.
