Oscar Mulero
Oscar Mulero (born Óscar Mulero Crecente) is a Madrid-based techno producer and DJ who has been active in Spain’s club circuit since the late 1980s and is closely associated with underground techno. He is also the owner of the record labels Warm Up Recordings and PoleGroup Recordings (also known as Pole Recordings), which have served as key outlets for his work and related contemporary techno releases.
Mulero began playing in Madrid clubs in the late 1980s, including New World and Overdrive, venues linked at the time with styles such as EBM and techno. This period is often cited as the beginning of his professional career. In 1994, he founded The Omen Club in Madrid, a project connected to the city’s developing electronic music infrastructure in the early 1990s.
As a producer, Mulero’s profile expanded in the early 2000s, when his recordings helped define a stark, underground strain of techno associated with Spain. He launched Warm Up Recordings in 2000, followed by PoleGroup Recordings in 2004. According to available summaries, each label’s catalog has surpassed 100 releases, reflecting sustained activity as both a curator and label head alongside his own output.
Mulero has released and performed under a number of aliases, including Mulero, O. Mulero, OM, Trolley Route, infamous Monster, and Double Sided Hospital. His work is commonly linked with minimal techno and minimal dub as well as Spanish techno and broader techno styles. In 2012, he released the album Black Propaganda, which received largely positive reviews within online techno communities.
