Nils Frahm
Nils Frahm is a German musician, composer and record producer known for bringing classical and electronic instruments into the same musical space. Based in Berlin, he has developed an unconventional piano-led approach that can combine grand and upright pianos with a Roland Juno-60, Rhodes piano, drum machines and Moog Taurus.
Born on 20 September 1982 in Hamburg, Frahm works across contemporary classical, ambient, minimalism and electronic music. His recordings often place acoustic piano alongside synthesizers and rhythm machines, with production and composition closely intertwined.
Alongside his solo work, Frahm has collaborated with Ólafur Arnalds, F. S. Blumm, cellist Anne Müller and Woodkid. He also records and performs as Nonkeen with Frederic Gmeiner and Sebastian Singwald. His work has been released through Leiter.
