Mildlife

Neo-psychedelic

Narrowing down Mildlife’s style into a single genre is nearly impossible, as they share a desire to push musical boundaries. Well-acquainted with the Melbourne band scene, the four longtime friends have been attracting audiences through epic journeys at intimate venues and festivals for the better part of the past four years. With a tight live performance enhanced by wild improvisation, the group has left fans eager for their first full-length studio album “Phase,” which explores jazz, psych, and disco for its captivating groove.

Capturing the band's essence, the 6-track debut LP of kaleidoscope jams is the interplanetary path between jazz, funk, and disco with a perfect blend of cosmic electronics and soulful acoustic instrumentation.

A melting pot of musical sensations, the group combines progressive 1970s sounds with electronic krautrock, supported by a mix of rhythmic funk, house, and dream-pop, to craft an addictive atmosphere perfectly illustrated by their first single ‘The Magnificent Moon’. This introduction to their eagerly awaited debut LP, set for release early next year on Research Records, is a nine-minute masterpiece exploring the group’s psyche." – Dummy Mag
