Michael Bublé
Michael Steven Bublé is a Canadian singer and songwriter whose recordings have sold more than 75 million copies worldwide. Regarded as a pop icon, he is often credited with renewing public interest in traditional pop standards and the Great American Songbook. Born in Burnaby, Canada, on September 9, 1975, Bublé has worked across pop, jazz, swing, big band and adult-standard repertoire, bringing classic songbook material into contemporary mainstream settings. His honours include five Grammy Awards and fifteen Juno Awards.
Bublé's self-titled third album, released in 2003, reached the top ten in Canada and the United Kingdom. He reached a wider international audience with It's Time in 2005 and Call Me Irresponsible in 2007. The latter became a number-one album in Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States and Australia, while also topping several European charts. Its performance put Bublé at the top of the Canadian Albums Chart, UK Albums Chart, Billboard 200 and ARIA Albums Chart.
In 2009, Crazy Love debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 after three days of sales and stayed there for two weeks. It was also his fourth number-one release on Billboard's Top Jazz Albums chart. His holiday album Christmas, released in 2011, spent the final four weeks of that year and the first week of 2012 at number one on the Billboard 200, for five weeks in total. It reached the top five in the United Kingdom and became his third consecutive number-one album on the US chart.
Bublé followed Christmas with To Be Loved in April 2013, Nobody but Me in October 2016 and Love in November 2018. Across those releases, his career has joined pop-scale commercial success with an ongoing focus on standards, jazz-informed arrangements and holiday music.
