Metz

METZ is a Canadian punk rock band formed in Ottawa in 2007 and later based in Toronto. Guitarist and vocalist Alex Edkins, bassist Chris Slorach and drummer Hayden Menzies make up the trio, which records for Sub Pop Records.

The group’s sound has also been associated with noise rock, post-punk and post-hardcore, though Edkins has described punk rock as being “at the core” of METZ’s music in an interview with the Austin zine The Cosmic Clash. Working as a guitar, bass and drums trio, METZ pairs Edkins’ vocals and guitar with Slorach’s bass and Menzies’ drumming.
