Martin Ikin is an English electronic music producer and DJ whose work spans several phases of UK club music, from early 1990s hardcore and jungle-related styles to later house and tech house. He has also recorded under a wide range of aliases, including DJ Mayhem, Indigo, and Soul Purpose, alongside variations on his own name.

According to Discogs, Ikin began producing in 1991. His earliest output was rooted in hardcore, jungle techno, and drum and bass, and was issued on labels associated with that period’s rave and breakbeat scenes, including Basement, Face, and Precious Materials. After a break from releasing music, he returned with a shift in emphasis toward house, described on Discogs as a “funky US-styled” approach, and he established the Soul Purpose imprint as part of that later direction.

In more recent years, Ikin’s releases have been associated with contemporary house and bass house circuits, including work connected with labels such as Toolroom, Ultra Records, Universal-Island Records, and Terminal Underground. Discogs also notes collaborations with DJ Phantasy on releases for Easy Records, reflecting an ongoing interest in jungle alongside his house-focused output.
