Loods
Loods is the stage name of Australian dance music producer and DJ Elliot Struck. Raised in Newcastle, New South Wales, an industrial coastal city often referred to as the “Steel City,” he emerged with a direct, club-focused approach that draws on disco house and broader Australian dance music.
In 2018, Struck relocated to London. That period coincided with a run of releases on Steel City Dance Discs, the label associated with his longtime friend Mall Grab, including two records described as sell-outs. He also appeared for Boiler Room at London’s Southbank Centre and contributed mixes to Rinse FM, NTS, and Triple J, alongside touring across the UK and Europe.
His 2019 output included another Steel City Dance Discs EP, also described as a sell-out, and the single “Walking Away” on Classic Music Company. The track received Annie Mac’s “Hottest Record” designation and was played regularly on BBC Radio 1.
Loods’ releases have also appeared on labels including Running Back, Higher Ground, and Club Sweat, reflecting an ongoing connection to contemporary club and house music imprints. He is associated with genres such as disco house and Australian dance.
