King Krule
Archy Ivan Marshall, known primarily as King Krule, is an English singer, songwriter, musician, rapper and record producer whose work brings punk jazz into contact with hip hop, darkwave, trip hop and post-punk. Born in London on 24 August 1994, he began recording in 2010 under the name Zoo Kid before adopting the King Krule moniker the following year.
King Krule released several EPs before issuing his debut full-length album, 6 Feet Beneath the Moon, in 2013. The record received positive critical reception and introduced a wider audience to Marshall's restless mix of songwriting, rap and atmospheric production. His second album, A New Place 2 Drown, followed in 2015.
His later albums expanded that body of work. The Ooz, released in 2017, and Man Alive!, released in 2020, both drew further critical acclaim. In 2023, he released his fifth album, Space Heavy. Alongside King Krule, Marshall has worked under other names including Archy Marshall, Edgar The Breathtaker, Edgar The Beatmaker and DJ JD Sports.
