Killing Joke is an English rock band that started in October 1978 in Notting Hill, London. The initial line-up included Jaz Coleman (vocals, keyboards), Paul Ferguson (drums), Geordie Walker (guitar), and Youth (bass), with Coleman and Walker remaining the constant members despite numerous lineup changes.

Even with only moderate commercial success, Killing Joke has been hugely influential in certain genres, like industrial rock, and has inspired numerous bands, including Metallica, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, and the Foo Fighters.

The band has released fifteen studio albums from 1980 to 2015, with 1985’s Night Time being their peak of mainstream visibility.
