Joyce Wrice
Joyce Wrice gained wider recognition with Overgrown, her debut studio album, released in 2021. An American singer and songwriter from San Diego, California, she works in a blend of R&B and neo soul.
Before releasing original music, Wrice performed covers on YouTube. After graduating from Soka University of America with a Liberal Arts degree, she moved from Orange County to Los Angeles and began developing her work as a solo artist. Her early releases included material shared through SoundCloud and YouTube.
In 2015, she issued her first commercial single, “Ain’t No Need,” produced by Mndsgn and DJ Harrison. She followed it with her debut EP, Stay Around, on May 24, 2016. The EP included production from SiR, Mndsgn, J. LBS and Chuk de la Garcon.
In 2023, Wrice and producer Kaytranada received a Juno Awards nomination.
