Joris Voorn

Joris Voorn is a Dutch DJ and record producer based in Amsterdam. Associated with Dutch tech house and minimal techno, he has worked under his own name as well as a range of aliases, including J-Voorn, J. Voorn, J.V., Joris Vorn, Voorn, Joris, Third Nation, Dark Science, and Virsion.

Voorn’s career has been tied closely to Amsterdam’s club-oriented electronic music infrastructure, particularly through label work. He is the co-owner of the Amsterdam-based labels Rejected and Green, a role that places him on both the creative and operational sides of releasing and curating dance music. He has been active in house and techno since 1997.

In addition to Rejected and Green, Voorn has been connected with Spectrum, a label he founded in 2019. His output also appears in contexts linked to Armada Music and Armada, including A State Of Trance Radio, reflecting activity across adjacent corners of the Dutch electronic scene while remaining rooted in house and techno forms.

Born in Tilburg in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Voorn later made Amsterdam his base. Across his work as a DJ, producer, and remixer, his discography includes releases credited to multiple name variations and side-project identities, a common practice in electronic music for separating stylistic approaches and collaborations.
