Jordan Rakei
Jordan Rakei (born May 23, 1992) is a singer, songwriter, and producer who grew up in Brisbane, Australia. He relocated to London in 2014 to collaborate with some of his online friends after feeling the need for a change. Some of his notable collaborations include working with Tom Misch and Disclosure, and he has also featured on tracks with REMI, FKJ, and Joyner Lucas.
Jordan began releasing music in the early 2010s, with his earliest release on Bandcamp being the Franklin’s Room EP. Since then, he has put out four full-length albums and three EPs along with a deluxe edition of 2019’s Origin. His latest album, Late Night Tales: Jordan Rakei, came out in 2021.
On Jordan’s website, he describes his music as having a “soulful, jazz, and hiphop-driven sound.” His lyrics are often poetic and encourage reflection on feelings as well as the nature of life and the world, as seen in tracks like “Mad World,” “Nerve,” and “Signs.”
