
James Blake
James Blake Litherland, known professionally as James Blake, was born on September 26, 1988. He is an electronic singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer hailing from London.
Although primarily considered a dubstep producer and often recognized as a significant figure in the post-dubstep scene, Blake also incorporates strong soul influences into his music.
By December 2020, Blake had released four studio albums and eight EPs.
He first garnered attention with a series of EPs in 2010 ("The Bells Sketch," "CMYK," and "Klavierwerke"), before launching his debut self-titled LP "James Blake" through his record label ATLAS on February 4, 2011, receiving widespread critical praise. On October 10, 2011, Blake released a deluxe edition of the album featuring his "Enough Thunder EP," followed by the release of the "Love What Happened Here EP," concluding a successful year.
Blake gained further acclaim with his second LP "Overgrown," released on April 5, 2013. His sixth EP, "200 Press," came out in December 2014.
His third album, "The Colour in Anything," was released on May 6, 2016, and his fourth, "Assume Form," on January 18, 2019. The latter became his highest-charting album to date, reaching number 21 on the US Billboard 200. Both albums were released by Polydor Records Ltd.
In 2020, Blake released the "Before EP" and a "Covers EP."
Under the alias Harmonimix, he has produced and arranged remixes, such as a track with rapper Trim.
