Huerco S. is the primary recording name of Brian Leeds, an American electronic music producer and DJ associated with ambient, outsider house, and experimental synth music. Working across a wide range of styles that also includes ambient dub, drone, “new isolationism,” and NYC club-oriented sounds, Leeds has released music under numerous aliases, including Loidis, Pendant, Royal Crown Of Sweden, and Independence Ave. Orchestra, as well as shorter forms such as H.S. and Huerco S.

Leeds was born in Kansas, United States, and has been based in Germany. Alongside his work as Huerco S., he has used different monikers to separate projects with distinct sonic aims, from club-leaning material to more abstract, atmospheric, and textural music. His output is often discussed in the context of contemporary ambient and experimental electronic music, where his productions move between beat-driven tracks and more diffuse, immersive pieces.

He is also the founder of the label West Mineral Ltd., a platform connected to his broader artistic activity and releases.
