Hollywood Undead
Hollywood Undead was created in June/July 2005 by J-Dog and Deuce (a former member). All members grew up in LA, California. Currently, there are five members: J-Dog (vocals, guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, synthesizer), Charlie Scene (vocals, lead guitar), Johnny 3 Tears (vocals, bass guitar), Funny Man (vocals), and Danny (vocals, keyboards, guitar). The past members include Da Kurlzz (vocals, drums, percussion, left in June 2017), Deuce (vocals, left in 2009 for unspecified reasons), and Shady Jeff (vocals, left in 2007 due to disagreements with others). All members wear masks and use nicknames. The band is known for their sarcastic and honest lyrics, covering themes such as partying, drinking, drug use, girls, love, emotions, heartlessness, heartbreak, and similar subjects.
The band name "Hollywood Undead" was coined by J-Dog when he and Deuce wrote a song called "Hollywood," initially referring to the band as "Undead" because they likened Hollywood's partygoers to zombies. After J-Dog wrote the band name and song title on a CD and showed it to a neighbor, the neighbor misinterpreted it as "Hollywood Undead," a name that stuck with J-Dog.
Their debut album, "Swan Songs," was released on September 2, 2008, featuring songs like "City," "Black Dahlia," and "Everywhere I Go." Their second studio album, "American Tragedy," released in 2011, had Danny taking over lead vocals, with tracks such as "Been to Hell," "S.C.A.V.A.," and "Bullet." The third album, "Notes From The Underground," released in 2013, included songs like "We Are," "From the Ground," and "Outside." In 2015, they released their fourth album, "Day of the Dead," featuring tracks like "Day of the Dead," "Disease," and "Fuck the World." On October 27, 2017, the album "Five" was released, which the band claims is their best work to date, featuring songs such as "California Dreaming," "Whatever It Takes," "Renegade," and "We Own The Night."
