Foster the People is an American indie pop band that originated in Los Angeles, California in 2009. The band consists of Mark Foster and Isom Innis. Their music is a blend of melodic dance-infused pop and rock, crossing various genres. Tyler Halford is a current touring member of the band. Phil Danyew toured with them from 2014 to 2019 before starting his own project, Elephant Castle. Jacob “Cubbie” Fink was a member until he departed in 2015 after their second album. Arlene Deradoorian (sister of Angel Deradoorian) and Haley Dekle contributed backing vocals for the band in 2014.
