Forrest Melvill Thomas Jr., known professionally as Forrest, was an American singer who was based in the Netherlands. He was born in Galveston, Texas, and was also credited under variations of his name including Forrest M. Thomas Jr., Forrest M. Thomas, Forrest Thomas, and Forest.
According to Discogs, Forrest worked as a disco and soul singer and began releasing singles after moving to Los Angeles as a teenager. He later relocated to the Netherlands, where he recorded a full-length album produced by John Tilly. Discogs also associates him with a cover version of the Hues Corporation’s 1974 song “Rock the Boat,” as well as a track titled “Feel The Need,” and notes collaboration with DJ Roog.
Forrest died in Tilburg, the Netherlands, at the age of 60. Discogs reports that the cause of death was a stroke.
