Forrest
Forrest Melvill Thomas Jr., known professionally as Forrest, was an American disco and soul singer who built much of his recording career in the Netherlands. Born in Galveston, Texas, he moved to Los Angeles as a teenager and released a series of singles before relocating to the Netherlands. There he recorded a full-length album produced by John Tilly. His best-known records included versions of the Hues Corporation’s “Rock the Boat” and “Feel the Need,” and he also worked with Dutch DJ Roog. Forrest died in Tilburg, Netherlands, in 2013, aged 60.
