Fontaines D.C. are an Irish rock band formed in Dublin in 2014. The group’s lineup consists of Grian Chatten on vocals, Conor Curley and Carlos O’Connell on guitars, Conor “Deego” Deegan III on bass, and Tom Coll on drums. They are also known simply as Fontaines, as Fontaines DC, and in Japanese as フォンテインズ D.C.

The band’s music has been associated with Irish indie rock and Irish post-punk, and has also been described with the genre tag “crank wave.” Fontaines D.C. emerged from Dublin’s contemporary guitar-music circuit and have been identified as a rock band rather than a solo project or studio-only act, with a stable five-member formation centered on Chatten’s vocals and a two-guitar lineup.

In recorded work and distribution, Fontaines D.C. have been connected with labels including Partisan Records, XL Recordings, and Chrysalis Records. Their name appears in multiple stylizations across releases and listings, reflecting the punctuation and spacing used in “Fontaines D.C.” as well as simplified variants used in different markets and cataloging systems.
