Five Finger Death Punch

Five Finger Death Punch broke through with 2007’s The Way of the Fist, a debut that sold more than 500,000 copies in the United States. Formed in Las Vegas in 2005, the American heavy metal band is also known as 5FDP and FFDP. Its early lineup paired vocalist Ivan Moody with guitarists Zoltan Bathory and Caleb Andrew Bingham, bassist Matt Snell, and drummer Jeremy Spencer.

The band expanded its commercial reach with War Is the Answer in 2009, which sold more than one million copies in the United States and received Platinum certification from the RIAA. Its third album, American Capitalist, arrived on October 11, 2011 and also went Platinum. The two-part The Wrong Side of Heaven and the Righteous Side of Hell project followed in 2013, with Volume 1 and Volume 2 released that year. Later records Got Your Six (2015) and And Justice for None (2018) earned Platinum or Gold certifications.

Lineup changes have been a recurring part of the group's history. Bingham was replaced by Darrell Roberts in 2006, and Roberts gave way to Jason Hook in 2009. Snell left in 2010, with Chris Kael joining on bass in 2011. Spencer departed in 2018 because of recurring back issues and was replaced by Charlie Engen. Bathory and Moody are the only members to have appeared on every Five Finger Death Punch album. In October 2020, British guitarist Andy James became the band's lead guitarist, replacing Hook.

Five Finger Death Punch has been a regular festival performer, appearing at Mayhem Festival in 2008, 2010, and 2013, and at Download Festival in 2009, 2010, 2013, 2015, and 2017. The band received RadioContraband Rock Radio's Indie Artist of the Year award in each year from 2011 through 2014. It also won the outlet's 2012 Album of the Year award for American Capitalist and Song of the Year for “Coming Down,” followed by Video of the Year in 2014 for “Wrong Side of Heaven.”

The group released its eighth studio album, F8, in 2020, followed by AfterLife in 2022 and Legacy in July 2026. As of 2025, Five Finger Death Punch had released ten studio albums, alongside a live album, four compilations, an EP, and 33 singles.
