Ferry Corsten

Ferry Corsten reached the upper tier of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll with fifth-place finishes in 2004 and 2005, followed by sixth-place rankings in 2006 and 2008. He remained a regular presence in the poll over subsequent years, placing at number 80 in 2024. Born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on 4 December 1973, Corsten is a Dutch DJ, record producer and remixer whose work spans several decades of electronic music.

During the 1990s and 2000s, Corsten became widely associated with trance productions released under a long-running set of aliases. System F, Moonman, Pulp Victim and Gouryella are among the best-known names connected to his catalogue. The Gouryella project was originally a partnership with Tiësto, while Corsten later revived the name for new material and live performances. His production and remix work has also included remixes for artists such as U2, Moby, Faithless, Duran Duran and Public Enemy.

Corsten’s sets and releases have moved across progressive house, uplifting trance and related electronic styles rather than remaining fixed to a single strain of trance. He hosts the weekly Resonation Radio show, extending his work as a DJ beyond club and festival appearances. Corsten has performed internationally at major electronic events including Electric Daisy Carnival and Tomorrowland, maintaining an active touring profile alongside his studio output.
