Claude VonStroke
Claude VonStroke is the stage name of Barclay Macbride Crenshaw, the American house producer behind Dirtybird Records. Born July 7, 1971, in Cleveland, he is based in Los Angeles and built the Claude VonStroke project around house and techno productions, DJ sets, and the San Francisco-based Dirtybird label.
His debut album, Beware of the Bird, arrived in July 2006. He followed it with Bird Brain in 2009, and released a Fabric mix in May of that year. VonStroke has also been a recurring guest on Pete Tong’s Essential Mix, appearing in 2007, 2013, and 2020.
In 2016, VonStroke was named America’s Best DJ in Pioneer DJ and DJ Times’ annual fan-voted poll. The following year, he received Electronic Music Awards nominations for DJ of the Year and Radio Show of the Year for “The Birdhouse.” Alongside his work as Claude VonStroke, Crenshaw has used several other aliases, including Barclay Crenshaw, Pedro DeLaFaydro, Burnto Bertolucci, Mr. Zim, The Grizzl, and Barry Drift.
