Chaos in the CBD are a house music group formed by brothers Louis Simon Helliker-Hales and Benjamin Julian Helliker-Hales. Originally from Auckland, New Zealand, the duo began working under the name in 2011 and soon developed a profile that drew on house music with jazz and lo-fi inflections.
In 2012, Chaos in the CBD relocated from Auckland to London, a move that placed them within one of Europe’s most active club and record scenes. The group has continued to operate as a two-person project, with both brothers credited as the core members and producers behind the Chaos in the CBD name. They have also appeared under the related billing “Chaos In The CBD & Friends.”
