Bon Iver is an indie folk band formed by Justin Vernon, with the first Bon Iver songs being recorded in a cabin in Wisconsin for the debut album For Emma, Forever Ago. The name Bon Iver is derived from the French phrase “bon hiver,” meaning good winter.
The band’s album Bon Iver, Bon Iver won a Grammy in 2011, and their 2016 release 22, A Million was nominated for a Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album.
