Beck brought the lo-fi essence of DIY indie rock to the Billboard charts with his 1994 slacker anthem "Loser," but his avant-pop range extends far beyond the folk-rap beats and samples of that track. His music encompasses everything from funk, soul, and psychedelia to bold experiments with feedback, toy instruments, and found sounds.
