Ava Max

Ava Max broke through internationally with “Sweet but Psycho,” the 2018 single that reached number one in 22 countries. The song also peaked at number two on Australia’s ARIA Charts and number ten on the US Billboard Hot 100, bringing the Milwaukee-born singer and songwriter to prominence. Born Amanda Koçi on February 16, 1994, she records under the name Ava Max and works primarily in pop, electropop, and dance-pop.

Her early run of singles continued with “Kings & Queens,” released in March 2020. It reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 19 on the UK Singles Chart. Max released her debut studio album, Heaven & Hell, that September. The album peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart and number 27 on the Billboard 200. “My Head & My Heart,” issued in November 2020, followed with peaks of number 45 in the United States and number 18 in the United Kingdom.

Max’s second studio album, Diamonds & Dancefloors, arrived on January 27, 2023. Its singles “Maybe You’re the Problem” and “Million Dollar Baby” received gold and platinum certifications, and the album earned positive reviews. In 2025, she began the rollout for a third album with “Lost Your Faith,” released February 7, followed by “Lovin Myself” in May and “Wet, Hot American Dream” in July.

Her third studio album, Don’t Click Play, was released on August 22, 2025. It received mixed reviews and performed less strongly commercially than her previous releases. Later that year, Max announced on social media that she had left Atlantic Records after nine years with the label.
