Alexander Guy Cook, born 23 August 1990, is an English record producer whose work helped turn the exaggerated language of commercial pop into a defining element of hyperpop. He founded the London-based label PC Music in 2013, bringing together artists including Hannah Diamond, GFOTY, Danny L Harle and Felicita. PC Music's bright, synthetic productions, heightened vocal treatments and deliberately oversized pop gestures became closely associated with the developing hyperpop sound, and Cook is credited with developing and popularising the genre.

Cook began issuing solo singles in 2014 and has also worked under aliases including DJ Lifeline and DJ Warlord. That year, he joined musician Sophie and performance artist Hayden Dunham for the one-off project QT, producing the single “Hey QT”. Dazed placed him at number 12 in its Dazed 100, citing his role in “redefining style and youth culture in 2015 and beyond.”

His profile broadened through his long-running work with Charli XCX. Cook was executive producer of the 2017 mixtapes Number 1 Angel and Pop 2, then held the same role on the albums Charli (2019), How I’m Feeling Now (2020), Brat (2024) and Music, Fashion, Film (2026). He also served as XCX’s creative director. His production and collaborative credits extend to artists including Oneohtrix Point Never, Tommy Cash, Jónsi, Chris Lee, Li Yuchun and Carlie Hanson.

Cook released two debut full-length solo albums in 2020: the 49-track 7G and Apple, a more conventional album-length counterpart. Both explored hyperpop and received critical praise. He followed them with the remix collection Apple vs. 7G in 2021, then released his third album, Britpop, a 24-track, three-sided project, in 2024. Cook received Variety’s Hitmakers Innovator of the Year Award in 2020.

In 2022, Cook co-produced “All Up in Your Mind” from Beyoncé’s Renaissance, which earned him a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. His work on Charli XCX’s Brat and its remix album followed, with Brat winning the Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album. In 2026, Cook made his scoring debut with the film The Moment.
